Another Busy Day

So somebody decided to be brave and take a few steps today! We were at Grandma and Grandpa Young's house and I was showing Grandpa how he could stand with his back against a chair then he just took off! Out of shock I just grabbed him because he usually just falls forward, but as I grabbed him I realized he was still standing and could still have walked further. So anyways, that was exciting. Then we were eating lunch and Grandpa was leaving to go to the church so he said "bye" and waved to Logan. As he was walking away Logan waved and said "buh-buh" back! Woah. Talk about total shock today! So my baby is growing too fast. Is that a common problem with 9 month olds? :)

Trip to the park

So it looks like we're going to have to get a swing. :) Maybe a slide, too. Logan LOVED them both! He smiled the whole time on the swing, and for anyone who's spent time with him, you know it's not easy to get a smile from him. The slide was so much fun he squealed several times on the way down. Julie, Audrianna, Timmy, and Grandma Young invited us. First we saw all the animals at Lollipop farm, then headed to the park.
Logan's got new shoes, too. Yesterday we went and bought 3 pairs. One sneakers, and 2 sandals. Otherwise, the park trip wouldn't have been as much fun for me. They're real, har-bottom shoes. So cute! He didn't take a nap all morning. So I thought this would be perfect. One long nap in the middle of the day. Like normal kids. :)
Yesterday Amy came over and I was feeling creative. We made strawberry shortcakes and rice pudding. I gave Logan a strawberry shortcake during dinner and he LOVED it! He just tore that biscuit apart and made the biggest mess! It was funny when he noticed the strawberries, because he ate them all, then went back to playing with his biscuit. I even added some reddi-whip. He liked that. :) I've never made rice pudding before, but Andrew said it turned out good. I've only had it once, and don't remember it. Tastes plain and boring to me, but I add lots of cinnamon and sugar to my bowl. :) Maybe I'll let Logan try some when he gets up.

"He's a Natural"

That's what his daddy said. Logan's room is decorated like a hunting/fishing cabin. Andrew's new deer mount is on the wall behind the changing table, and there are two deer horns above his changing table. Logan always chacks to make sure they're all still there everytime. I was standing him up the other night and of course he was more interested in the horns. Andrew handed them to him and said he was holding them right. So, here's the proof that we have a future hunter already admiring all those mounts in his room. There is a fish also hanging, but it's over the fishtank, and more fragile. So it's no fun. :)

Logi-Boy

Logan is climbing on everything! If you give him your fingers to help walk, you'll be lucky if you ever get them back. He definately likes to walk. He'll get mad if you get tired and want to stop. When he gets mad he yells at me, "Momma! Mom!" :) It's so cute. When Andrew leaves the room sometimes he'll watch him and say, "Dod. Dod" He also signs "more" with his hands. Does every mother feel like she has the smartest baby? ;)

"Which way to the toy store, Ma?"

So we went to the endocrinologist today at Strong. I do not like going to the city, especially if I am the one who has to drive. So I took 441 the whole way because I don't like the big fast roads. Then I had to park in the parking garage. Once I got in there I realized I've never driven in one before. So I started going slow because the ceilings were very low and i felt like I was going to hit the roof of the truck. I was taking my sweet old time, then I realized I had about 5 cars behind me! So I quit my lolly-gaggin. Then I let someone pull out because they looked like they had a good spot. Then I realized it was handicapped. :) Oopps. So I just decided I'd go all the way to the top, no more stopping so I wouldn't start anyone with road rage. It was such a nice day to park on the top, too. Logan was getting cranky, and we were running early, so I nursed him in the truck. Then I stood him up and he was ready to drive! He was having a blast. Talking and laughing, holding on to the steering wheel.
So we finally went in to see the doctor and they measured him all up. He thinks Logan is perfectly normal and will just be a lanky boy. So praise the Lord! Everything's okay!

So then on the way home I figured I didn't need to use my GPS because it was straight the whole way. Then do you believe it, there was some kind of big accident on 441 and I had to turn around and take a detour! All I know about Penfield is how to get to Wegmans. So somehow I dind't get lost.

Logan is getting around so good lately! he was standing by the couch, playing with Brownie (who was on the couch, by the way) and he must've forgotten that he needs to hold on, becuase BOOM. He hit his head on the floor. Poor babay. I ususally try to get him not to cry when he falls, but this one sounded like it hurt. So, we went for a walk to the mailbox. We came back in, and his walker was right by the couch. He walked along the couch to his walker! (Such a big boy) and then walked his walker a little ways, then BOOM. Hit his head on the walker. So... he's sitting and playing. lol.

P.S. I just saw the accident on the news and it was described as "wild." A car hit a house, and caused a pole to fall over and hit another car. Something like that.

P.S.S Just in case I can somehow get into trouble... When Logan was standing at the steering wheel the truck was parked, and turned off. :)

:)

Umm.. notice a pattern?

He's standing up on everything. He stood up outside the walker (yes, he's a weirdo, I know) and he was pushing it around. Leave it to my son to like walking on the outside of his walker more than in his walker. He actually was doing quite well.
Sometimes when he stands, he forgets that he needs to hold on and just lets go. He thinks he's bigger than he really is.

On the move

Well this picture didn't make his daddy proud, but Logan certainly had fun. Aunt Josie pushed him around at Grandma's house on this yesterday, and he LOVED it! So, looks like I'll be searching Craigslist today for a manly one.
Last night after church I put Logan on the floor to play with his toys while Andrew and I got our dinner. Andrew stood in the doorway watching Logan and motioned for me to come look. He had scooted all the way to the laundry basket (yes, it's still there) and stood up by it again. Then, he oppled over into it with his cute little feet kicking. He didn't whine or fuss. He just was like, "Wow, that was fun! Let's do it again!" So after we were done laughing I put him on the floor next to it again and got the camcorder out. Again, he stood himself up on it and this time fell next to it, onto his back with his arms and legs sprawlled out and just laid there for a second, then laughed. (lol) Anyways, he's definately entertainment.
This morning he's been discovering new things. Getting on his hands and knees, pulling himself up, standing more at the couch. He thinks he can walk without help too, which is scary in several ways. 1. he can hurt himself, 2. he'll probably suprise me soon and actually walk.

2 quick pictures

Uh-oh! He was quite pleased with himself, here.

Logan was taking a morning nap. I was quietly wasting time on Pintrest. All of a sudden I hear loud snores coming from the other couch. What do I find behind me? Yep. Little princess snoring away.

in the kitchen..

This is what's for dinner :) Yes, all of it. In the big pot is approx. 7-8 pounds of chicken! I found a chicken soup recipe that is supposed to be very good. I'm reading a book, The Secrets of People who Never Get Sick. In one chapter it talks abouth this lady who hadn't been sick in about 60 years! She credits that to having chicken soup several times a week. Then the book gave a recipe. So, I figured it's worth a shot.
It's got:
7-8 lbs. chicken
2 lbs. carrots
2 large onions, cut in half
5 large ribs of celery, with leaves, cut in half
2 parsnips
1 small sweet potato, cut in half
1 turnip, cut in half
1 rutabaga, cut in half
1/2 large green bell pepper
1/2 large yellow pepper
2 large bunches of dill
1/2 large bunch of curly parsley
4 cloves garlic
salt and pepper to taste

That's it? ;) So we'll see how this tastes. Smells awfully good.

And this goofy guy has a tooth! As he was watching me put dinner together he was eating apple and banana pieces. :)

And here's the clean-up crew
