Logan

Conversation this morning with Logan: Me: Logan, what do you want for lunch? Logan: Go-gurt Me: You had yogurt for breakfast. Logan: Two Me: You want two yogurts? Logan: Mm-hmm. Be-bee one. Me: You want yogurt in the baby cup? Logan: Oh-kay!! (He likes to use a single-serve yogurt cups. So, I scoop out yogurt from the big cup to the small one to keep him happy. He gets that dorkiness from his father.)

"My Boys"

When I carry both of them at the same time I say, "Ohh, my boys." I noticed I did it (almost every time) when I hadn't said it, and Logan said it instead! Last time we went to the dollar store I bought a "grow" lizard. You know, you put it in water and it grows. Well Logan grew quite attached to that toy that wasn't even a real toy! He carried it everywhere. It had to even sign a birthday card like Logan. Everything he did, the lizard had to do. I didn't really like him playing with it because when it got wet, it got slimy. The next time we went to Walmart I found another toy lizard that looked very similar to his other one. So, when we got home I threw his old one on the top bunk to temporarily hide it. Well, I forgot about it and he found it. Now he knows there are two lizards and there's no getting rid of the old one without breaking his heart. Anyways... when he carries the both, (one in each arm, against his chest) he says, "My boys." :) Three of Logan's fish suddenly died, so Andrew threw the three living fish back in the pond. He left the bodies of the dead ones in the tank... laying on the rocks... which sounds gross, but I'm glad he did. Every single time Logan went into his room he'd ask where his fish went. At least I had those bodies to show him and tell him they were sleeping. So, Monday Andrew cleaned it out, added new rocks, and bought a turtle! He is quite smitten. He LOVES this turtle. We're still looking for a name. It's a female turtle, so all I can come up with is Myrtle. :) I thought of Minnie, but when I asked Logan if he liked it, he thought I was putting Mickey on the TV for him. That's not going to work.

Psalm 23

Every night before we read a chapter of the Bible with Logan we read Psalm 23 in hopes that he'll memorize it. Last night I told him, "say 'the.'" What he recited was: Duh. Lour-ed. is. myyy. shep-urd. I. shayll. not. wot! He did the whole thing!

Short update

(Russell singing to Logan) (Logan showing me his muscles while grunting) So Russell is quite the happy baby as long as I don't cheat and eat yummy dairy products. He sleeps great and talks all day long to his toys and family. Logan has his nite-nite (blanket). Russell has a stuffed Webkinz duck, who is yet to be named. It's funny how they pick their own attachments.

Hi

So this is how Logan sucks his finger/thumb. Yep. Both. This is how it looks like Russell will be sucking his fingers. Both lefties. That would be funny since neither of us are lefties. My dad and sister are both lefties, and it seems between our two families there are more lefties than normal people.... Oops, I mean right-handed people. :) Logan had been in big-boy undies for about two full weeks now with only a few accidents here and there. What a blessing! He still needs help getting on and off the potty since he is still little. Russell has slept 10.5 - 12 hrs every night since Friday night. Also wonderful. I'm starting to feel like life is normal again. :) And I seemed to have unintentionally gotten him to sleep by laying him down in his bed and walking away. I wanted to get him to do that, but didn't have the heart. He just kind of did it on his own and I wish I did it with Logan. When Logan goes to bed he is so funny. He tries to stall. He'll come up with anything to keep you in there. "Potty!" "Kiss!" "Pray!" "Hug!" Of course they are all things he knows you can't ignore. Smarty pants. So it's lunch time, and between Logan being gluten-free and myself trying dairy-free, there aren't many choices. It looks like a lot of brown rice spaghetti in our near future! It's a good thing we like it. I've been gluten-free for almost a month now, because Russell has had a stuffy nose since he was born, and it's got to be for a reason. Well, his nose is still stuffy and I didn't want to have to do this, but I'm trying dairy-free now to see if it helps. Andrew talked me into having a sub since gluten doesn't seem to be the problem with Russell, but I woke up the next day with a terrible headache and stuffy nose. So, I'm trying to stay off gluten a bit longer for myself now. So somehow I said all that to say toodles. :) Off to eat my spaghetti.i
